A milestone in the "Rise up Girls" project.

The budget for the first year of the project is secured. The global grant is underway for the CHF 80,000. The project can thus be launched soon. Many thanks to all the sponsors.

On 26 July, the application for the global grant (GG2231080) was submitted. This, together with the continued support of the Swiss districts and clubs, should ensure the future of the project for the 300 girls initially targeted.

In December 2021, a half-day pilot project was organised in a boarding school. The project generated great interest among the 80 participants, divided into groups of 20 girls. This was the first time that the girls were exposed to personal and body development workshops. They enthusiastically asked for a repeat experience. This shows that we are on the right track.

90% of Moroccan girls from rural areas are forced to drop out of school after primary school. Thus, only 10% have access to schooling today through worn-out boarding schools and in often unsanitary conditions. So far, seven boarding schools have been renovated thanks to the commitment of the Rotary Club Casa Nord, with whom we are working closely to complete the Rise up girls project and go beyond the renovation project. The Ministry of Education is responsible for drawing up the academic calendar. As soon as we have signed the partnership agreement, we can plan the implementation of the Rise up Girls programme. The programme will be rolled out in a school designated by the Ministry and will be face-to-face. There will also be virtual training for the facilitators. Training on hygiene, health and contraception/family planning will be provided by local doctors and social workers. For more information, see
